This Policy supplements our Privacy Policy and forms part of our Terms of Use.

This Cookie Policy explains how StarlightIQ, LLC (“StarlightIQ,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on https://starlightiq.com and our related applications (together, the “Platform”), and the choices available to you. This Policy supplements our Privacy Policy and is incorporated into our Terms of Use.

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. We also use related technologies, including pixels, tags, SDKs, and local storage (together with cookies, “Cookies”), which serve similar functions. Cookies may be “first-party” (set by StarlightIQ) or “third-party” (set by a vendor we work with), and may be “session” cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or “persistent” cookies (remain until they expire or you delete them).

2. Cookie Categories

We categorize Cookies as follows. The specific vendors and cookie names in use may change as our tools evolve; we will keep the categories below, and the cookie banner described in Section 3, current so you can always see and control what is active.

  • Strictly Necessary. Required for the Platform to function — for example, keeping you logged in, remembering items in a session, load balancing, and security features such as fraud prevention. These cannot be switched off in our systems because the Platform will not work properly without them, and they do not require consent under applicable law.
  • Functional. Remember choices you make (such as display preferences) to provide enhanced, personalized features. If disabled, some parts of the Platform may not function as intended.
  • Analytics and Performance. Help us understand how visitors use the Platform — pages visited, features used, and errors encountered — so we can measure and improve performance. These are typically set by analytics providers (for example, a web analytics service) operating on our behalf.
  • Advertising and Targeting. Used by us or our advertising partners to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant ads on and off the Platform, measure the effectiveness of ad campaigns, and limit the number of times you see an ad. These may involve sharing a device or browser identifier with a third-party advertising or social media platform and, depending on how they operate, may constitute a “sale” or “share” of personal information, or “targeted advertising,” under some state privacy laws.

3. Cookie Consent and Your Choices

When you first visit the Platform, a cookie banner lets you accept or reject non-essential Cookies (Functional, Analytics, and Advertising) by category, and you can change your choices at any time through the “Cookie Preferences” (or similarly labeled) link in the Platform footer. Strictly Necessary Cookies are always active because the Platform cannot function properly without them.

  • Browser Controls. Most browsers let you block or delete Cookies through their settings. Blocking Cookies may affect the availability or functionality of parts of the Platform, particularly features that rely on Functional Cookies.
  • Opt-Out Preference Signals. Where required by applicable law, we honor recognized opt-out preference signals — such as Global Privacy Control (GPC) — transmitted by your browser as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and targeted advertising through Advertising and Targeting Cookies.
  • Advertising Industry Tools. You can also opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies through industry tools such as the Digital Advertising Alliance’s WebChoices tool or the Network Advertising Initiative’s opt-out page, where applicable.
  • Mobile Devices. If you use our mobile applications, your device’s operating system settings may provide additional controls over identifiers used for advertising (for example, limiting ad tracking).

4. Third-Party Cookies

Some Cookies are placed by third parties that provide services on the Platform, such as analytics, customer support/chat, payment processing, and advertising measurement. These third parties may collect information about your online activities across different websites when you visit the Platform. We do not control these third parties’ use of Cookies, and their use is governed by their own privacy and cookie policies. As our vendor relationships evolve, we will update this Policy and the categories reflected in our cookie banner accordingly.

5. Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. Because there is no common industry standard for how to respond to DNT signals, we do not currently respond to DNT signals differently from Global Privacy Control or other recognized opt-out signals described in Section 3, which we do honor where legally required.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the Cookies we use or for legal or regulatory reasons. We will post the updated Policy on the Platform and revise the “Effective Date” above. Material changes will be reflected in the cookie banner and consent choices presented to you.
